No recordings
Lessons run directly from device to device via WebRTC. Nothing is recorded or stored.
Separation in the system
Gender is set at registration. The server rejects bookings across that boundary.
As little data as possible
We only store what is needed for lessons and bookings. No ads, no selling of data. Deletion on request at any time.
Servers in Germany
The platform runs at a German web host and complies with the GDPR.

What does TILAWA cost?
The first trial lesson is free. After that you pay the price the teacher sets – many start at a few euros per lesson (60 minutes), plus a small service fee of €0.25 per booking. During the current test phase all lessons are free.
Who teaches on TILAWA?
Female and male teachers mainly from Egypt and the Arab world who master the Quran very well. Every teacher is checked by video call before being approved.
How does the separation of men and women work?
Sisters only see and book female teachers, brothers only male teachers. This is checked in the booking itself. With children, a parent sits in the room.
Are lessons recorded?
No. Video and audio go directly between the two devices. TILAWA records nothing.
What do I need?
A phone, tablet or computer with camera, microphone and an up-to-date browser. You do not need to install an app.
